The
real good old days of hot rodding, reliving hot rodding with over 500
photos from many rodders' albums, scrapbooks and shoeboxes.
The photos show the cars and activities at the lakes and on the streets
in the period from about 1932 to 1955.
That period was probably the most important period in the history of hot
rodding - it was then that the street driven hot rods evolved into race
cars.
Also, rodders whose primary interest was to build nice rods for the streets
were busy with cars that would be the foundation of the huge street rod
popularity today.
"Authentic Hot Rods" shows the way roadsters, coupes and sedans looked
as they were raced at the lakes. The styles, construction details and
builder's ideas are shown. Also, many photos show what the early rods
built for the streets looked like and the preferred modifications.
