Simon and Louise rarely
miss a cruise night. I've pictured them here with their AMC Javelin
but they also have a very rare, numbers matching, '57 GMC truck, with its
original 347ci Pontiac engine,
that is being 'dressed u'p at the moment. Hopefully they will have it out
and at the Cruise in Spring ' 07.
You'll usually see Barrie
in his Mercury Cougar ( he's the head of the UK Chapter )
but on this occasion he brought out a new toy !
( Added in Jan 07 ) Happy New Year! I finally got around to tackling my profile!
"I bought a 67 Mercury Cougar 289 in 1973! Don't do the maths: That's 34-years
ago!
I joined the Cougar Club of America shortly after it was formed in 1980 and
in 1983
I was offered the post of Overseas Director and, although the name has changed
now
to International Manager, I've held the post ever since.
When I got my Cougar, it wasn't a classic. Just a 6-year old car with average
mileage!
On December 12th, my car marked its 40th Birthday! And I know that's correct:
I have a Marti Report.
I also have the
works order form for my 1976 Mustang II Mach 1
that's still undergoing a very, very long term restoration. Don't ask!
While it's still on the road, the Cougar takes repair priority and
it hasn't been laid up for more than a couple of weeks at a time in over 15-years.
(Now you know why it looks a little shabby at times!)
The Mustang? I hope to get that up and running again this year. But I'm in
no rush.
By the time It's finished, maybe the Conservatives will have restored the
'rolling year' for Historic vehicle tax!
Back to the Cougar thing: As International Manager, I can be reached at international@cougarclub.org.
"

This is Martin with his latest acquisition - a ('56,
is that right ?) Chevy truck which
looks good right now. It'll look even better when he's worked his magic on
it.
(Ooops, I've just been told that the truck is actually registered as a 1949
and . .
Martin, I'll make sure I get your name right in future . . . sorry)
Regulars to the Cruise will have seen Martin in his gorgeous red Chevelle
Malibu SS
on a number of occasions.

Although he's not here
in the pic, Paul Kennedy and his '33 Willys, is known to many of us.

"This Mike, lives on the Wirral, age 34,
car is a 2000 Viper GTS.
Mike's had lots of nice cars including a 348 Ferrari & a 911.
He wasn't really into american cars until he came with me ( Ben, see black
'05 Mustang below )
to pick my Mustang up and saw a Viper in the flesh.
From that day on I think he had to have one, although I think he only wanted
it because
the 8L engine makes my 4.6L look small !
Anyhoo, he managed to find a one owner car with only 12K on the clock
that looks like it's just rolled off the production line.
Because it's so mint (and quick enough) there are no plans to modify it..well
maybe just an exhuast."
Thanks Ben, appreciate you taking the time to put this
profile and your own together. . . G

My names Ben, I live on the Wirral, age 35,
car is an 2005 Ford Mustang GT.
Although I've always liked american cars I'd never thought of buying one.
I suppose I just thought they would be too impractical.
My Civic type-R was due for changing and I was all set to get a second hand
M3 and then
saw the new Mustang in Bauer Millet...and then I didn't want an M3 anymore.
I've had the car for 10 months and thanks to the MOCGB and the forum I've
got the modifying bug.
So far: Hurst shifter, C&L CAI, Diablo tune and SLP loudmouth exhaust.

Name is Brad, I own the Orange Dodge
Challenger.
It's got a 440 magnum with 727 torqflite auto transmission.
It's in excellent condition inside and out and was prepared by Brighouse Speed
& Automotive.
I drive it as often as I can when the weather is good.
I've owned a 1960 Willys Jeep, 70 Charger, and a 68 Barracuda.
I'm in the MMA and have been coming to the American Auto Mags cruise
for a couple of years now and it's become a monthly highlight for me.
I was born in the wrong century. Have made some good mates with some awesome
cars!
Thanks for that Brad. Now we just need a photo of you
with the car.
Here's some more photos.
Now we need to know who you are; where you're from;
make, model & year of your car; any mods ?
